Youth Activities
In April of 2006 the CRST Game, Fish and Parks Department formed several committees to address pertinent issues within the Department and throughout the Reservation. One of the Committees developed was a youth committee. The GFP recognizes the important role our youth will play in the future of our Tribe, therefore, it is a goal to provide the youth with positive experiences and opportunities. The GFP Youth Committee agreed to start by hosting fishing derbies for the Reservation youth. Fishing derbies were established throughout the Reservation with kids participating from various communities. The kids, ages 0 to 16, enjoy two hours of fishing, a free lunch and category prizes and door prizes.
Many Thanks to those that donated and participated to make each event a memorable one.

GFP and Dogs
Our mission is to preserve the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe’s natural resources for future generations. We are responsible for management of wildlife on our 1.4 million acre Reservation. We recognize the adverse affects of feral animals not only to wildlife, but to the overall health of our people and Reservation. We encourage responsible pet management to reduce the number of feral animals on the Reservation. Our focus area is to educate the youth to reduce animal overpopulation.
